About Afro Mod Trends
AfroModTrends is affordable luxury clothing and accessories brand. It was established in August 2011 with a retail outlet opened in Osu, Accra in February 2013.
At AfroModTrends, we believe Fashion can be used as a tool to impact society positively. Beyond the glamour and sophistication, Fashion can greatly be used as a medium for positive, progressive societal change as it transcends race, age, class etc. We have dubbed this concept as ‘Fashion for change’ and it is at the very core of our business as we strive to take an active role in poverty reduction and sustainable livelihood creation by contributing to support causes which make a difference in society.
We also believe education is the foundation to create a sustainable livelihood and for dreams to be realized. In this vein, a partnership was formed between AfroModTrends and Utopia Wishlist, a volunteer organization focused on improving the education of poor and less fortunate children in Accra, Ghana on a project dubbed the Reading Club 2013 which seeks to improve the written and spoken English by pupils in primary government schools. From every purchase of any product from AfroModTrends, a contribution is made for the purchase of a book to support the Reading Club project.
With a pilot of this project underway in Ofankor, a suburb of Accra, we live by the belief that the success of our business will be measured not just by the number of clothes sold, but also by the number of children who are inspired and enabled to realize their dreams, no matter how wild or crazy.
